Ah, fritz, those are attributes of the suspension itself (at a given position). The others are (often) dynamic as the suspension goes through its range of motion. However, slip angle is the only one that requires movement!

None of the others are as fun(terrifying?) on their lonesome as slip angle is.
Well, since being technical was introduced on this subject, I feel obligated to point out that:

    * slip angle does not rely on the vector of actual tire travel, but the direction of tire travel. A vector is a direction and a magnitude. Magnitude has no bearing on slip angle. the angle is the same whether the tire travels one half inch or ten feet.

*toe in or toe out is also slip angle when traveling in a straight line. If you toe your front right tire in two degrees and drive straight, then the slip angle is two degrees, for that tire. Assuming that your front tires are toe'd in or out to the same degree, then this causes a slip angle when turning as well. Assume that both tires are toe'd in at two degrees. If you turn left, then your front right tire will be pointing four degrees more left than your front left tire. Since an object can only be moving in one direction at any given instant in time, one or both of the tires will be experiencing a slip angle.

My nick comes from one of the first forums I ever joined. in 1997 I bought a BMW 325e and joined a forum for BMW 3-series to discuss maintenance and performance issues, etc. If you ever had a question, people would always ask you what particular 3 series you had, so I just incorporated that into my user name so I could avoid that formality. I still use the nick for forums.

Yes, lead (leed) as in lead the way, though into what, I don't know. However, I must admit that many days I feel more like a lead (led)... something.

Clueless once again, or still. The parents selected it, unbeknownst to me at the time, and it just seems to have stuck.

My user name comes from a combination of things. The first part, wolfman, comes from the fact that I'm a hairy guy, and as I've said before I had to start shaving around the age of ten or eleven. So I had a lot of nicknames like beasty or sasquatch. Also, I ended up writing a song about little red riding hood from the wolf's point of view about how he's trying to get her in the sack. Then about two years ago I finally got into a band that could understand the structure and had a lead singer that didn't mind the drummer (me) singing while playing since most lead singers are kind of big headed and don't like the attention taken away from them, but it had to be me since most people I know can't pull off that old style rockabilly vocal style. So eventually things like beasty and sasquatch turned into wolfman and wolfy as the song gained popularity with local show-goers.

As for XIII, a lot of odd coincidences in my life seem to revolve around the number thirteen so I decided to get it tattooed on my arm. But since getting a 13 tattooed on you was popular in the 90's I didn't want to give off the wrong impression so I got it done in roman numerals.

The avatar is a picture of Tom Waits because well, I like his music, it's very interesting to me and he's an interesting character on top of that.
