Thanked: 6My uncle, who passed away two years ago, always had nicknames for everyone he knew. Apparently no ones mother gave them the right name at birth, so he took it upon himself to rename everybody! Anyway, somehow when he was thinking up nicknames for me, he landed on Melvin and that's what he called me for about as long as I can remember. I got the better deal, my brother got stuck with Titus! He was a great man, even though he didn't ever call me by my real name. Always joking about something. Also, I've always been a big fan on MAD magazine. Back in the early days of MAD, the running character was Melvin. They had spoofs like Little Orphan Melvin and so on. Then they had a spoof on Planet of the Apes, and Melvin of the Apes was born. The magazine came out before I was born, but thankfully I have a dad who's as big of an idiot as I am, and he had a stack of Old MADs I used to read when I was a kid. After my uncle died, I signed up on XboxLive and I needed a screen name. And, I've been MelvinOfTheApes on just about everything since. I never have to worry about it being taken already!

My name is Stuart and when I was at school we studied AA Milne, when I was about 14.
A mate of mine in the class started singing "Winnie the Stu" instead of Winnie the Pooh.
Winnie the Stu got shortened to Stubear and the rest is history! I'm 26 now, so its kinda stuck around..!

Thanked: 7The "ozzlefinch" is a mythilogical bird made up by my unit when I was in the Army air defense corp. He wears a helmet and carries missles under his wings. It's mating call sounds like "ifitfliesitdies". For whatever reason the name stuck.

Mine is an evangelistic acrostic.....
E- Everyone is a sinner
No one has to teach us to be self absorbed. We need no help to do what's wrong according to God's standard, we must see things from His point of view not our own.
N-No one deserves to go to heaven
In fact we each are holding a ticket to hell. Without help we have no hope. There's nothing we are capable of on our own that will justify our actions in the eyes of God.
U- Unless we turn from sin and self to the One who is enough-
That one is Jesus. In the Book of John we are told (For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.) John 3:16 The rest of Romans 6:23 says (the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ) Also in Romans we are told it was God not us who made the way (But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us! ) Romans 5:8 .
There is only one way to have what we need and it is through -----
F-Faith-
In Ephesians the 2nd. chapter it says ( For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast. ) Also in Romans we learn that ( If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation.)
Finally,
2- This is ENUF
to save, to heal, to change lives forever.
Being a Chaplin and working with the Church and other ministries understanding ENUF is enough is a must.
