Absolutely true, but they are all related. Strangely, until your posting I always thought your name was from the shaving stroke where the direction of stroke is not normal to the edge of the razor, the guillotine stroke described here.

"yuzu" is an asian citron with a unique lime-like flavor that used in ponzu sauce and other dishes, and I think it tastes and smells great! The "ha" part means leaf. So, with the kanji I use, my handle means "leaf of yuzu" (I had various Japanese pen pals and drove them crazy asking about the stuff after I'd found a bottle of juice at a local Japanese market and one mentioned that she should call me that.) It was also a popular woman's name around the 1900's.
My avatar is a demon amused by what she is watching on a monitor. Coincidentally her name is also Yuzuha so I could not resist. She is a character from a Tenchi Muyo anime movie Manatsu no Eve, (her name sounds the same but uses the kanji for demon, box and leaf). On foodie forums and a few other places I use a screen grab from Vampire Princess Miyu as an avatar.
The poem in my sig. is a death poem by a samurai poet/painter who used the handle "Choko" (that is the name of a sake cup and several people went by that pen name so I'm not sure if he was Hanabusa Itcho who died in the early 1700's or Yosa Buson who died in 1784)Last edited by yuzuha; 09-03-2009 at 03:44 AM.

What does your member name mean?
Gentlemen,
My full name is Obelit. I was named after Ashur-Uballit I (1363-1328 B.C.), one of the greatest kings of the ancient Assyrian empire. Assyria was located in the general area of the present-day Iraq.
Oh, I am also a full-blooded Assyrian. Now Assyrian-American.
In high school in Chicago, my teachers had a nightmare trying to pronounce my first name. One day one of them called me Obie. It stuck. Since then I also have used it as a show name and also for most of my writing.
Regards,
Obie

Ethermantis
Beside being a classical musician, I also play theremin. One tends to look a little "praying mantis-esque" playing it...in the ether. Ethermantis...that's it!

Thanked: 20I just use my eBay screen name as I have on many forums. For those not aware, picking is a traditional term for the lowest rung of antiques dealer usually wholesaling to retailers. I do have some regrets though. While it has applied well to lutherie, steel guitar, finger style, mandolin, lock and mushroom forums, on a personal grooming forum perhaps not so much. But if I decide to join that pepper forum, I should be good to go as is.
