Shipping clerk/co-ordinator/Dangerous goods shipping "expert", who know's. Every time we have a meeting my job title seems to change. Before that I was just a plain old Dock Monkey. Before that I drove truck & bus, Set up lab equipment (hoods, incubators and such) and furniture (herman miller type) install & removal. And that's all just in the last 10 yrs at the University. Did the usual cook jobs here and there as well as ran lift-truck in a freezer warehouse in a potato processing plant. Think that covers most of it anyway.

Been working on cars since I was 10, and finally got paid for it when I was 16. Six years later I'm working for BMW in an extremely affluential suburb of Chicago and thoroughly enjoying what I do. So far. Been shaving with a straight for close to 6 months, and never looking back.

I have noticed a trend of civil service employees here and ex police and military I guess lean toward straight razors?
I was a police officer for 10years and now a professional boxing and MMA coach for UFC fighters.

Thanked: 21I thought I'd share just to see if I could remember it.
Currently: Graduate student - I either teach or do research depending on what pays that semester. Right now I've got a research fellowship. I also work the door at a bar on the weekends to cover my bills
Last real job: Finance (ended up as a regional manager started as a receptionist and did almost everything in between).
Previous careers: Graphic designer, communications consulting, tech support, parrot breeder, newspaper delivery (as an adult), chef, every other possible job in a restaurant from general manager to dishwasher, bartender, musician/musical instructor, calculus tutor, receiving dock muscle, construction, and vintage electronics repair.
I'm pretty sure that there is at least something I've missed.

Thanked: 25Aircraft Mechanic
Was an Airborne Navaids guy in the air force 1960-64. Then TWA 1967-2001. Then the airline died went to AA for 2 years with the sale but never got credit for seniority so was laid off. I have my A&P and still work a couple of Nanchang CJ6's and a few home built's. I got interested in the straights again after I grew my beard a few years ago. I did shave with a straight before I went into the Air Force.

Wow Jreiter awesome job! I love airplanes- they inspired me to go to school as an engineer! (too tall to be a pilot, parents won't let me join the army- yes its technically my choice, but its technically their choice to send a christmas or birthday gift or acknowledge me as a son too lol)
I guess since everyone described their past, I only described my present earlier (student) so here goes:
I worked fast food at Auntie Anne's for 2 years (16-18) and on the side did some bike repair work. Then I landed a summer internship at BorgWarner (car company) as an intern in the test engineering department. Went to school, became unemployed (economy, no one wants to hire an 18 y/o) finally got a job moving stock in Target's backroom. I also volunteer/sometimes get paid for helping out coaching my high school crew team.

Thanked: 25Jobs
This is a hard time to be looking for work. In my time the technical fields were in full bloom. My son has no mechanical interest and went into law. He is in DC. He had to do document review until June when the stimulus was approved. He then was hired by Social Security.
