My Yob...
I've been in the Electronics Technician field for the last 25 years, various companies mostly in the industrial flow and analytical area.
I did a ten year stint in a high temperature ceramics R&D lab, till Honeywell/AlliedSignal shut our department down.
My last job was as an Instrument Technician at a silicon wafer manufacturer, till once again I was laid off.
Now I am going back to school to get a BS in Computer Programming.
I just started in June 2009.
It seems that I've been a Geek my entire life...

I'm an independent contractor bouncing around between several international lingerie firms, mostly French-based. Kind of a catch-all job: coordinating panels for product testing and evaluation, interviewing/recruiting models, and assisting on photo shoots.
Aside from that, when I'm awake, I teach English (as a second language) classes.

Member Occupation/Careers
Gentlemen,
I have had a triple career as writer, radio announcer and voice narrator.
With 30 years in radio as announcer, I worked mostly for commercial and NPR classical music radio stations, with some jazz stints. In those years I also held positions as music and program director. I also did some arts and feature radio reports, and interviewed scores of prominent writers, actors and musicians. I worked in Chicago, St. Louis, San Diego and Milwaukee.
My professional writing career began as a U.S. Army combat correspondent in Vietnam. Since then I have written hundreds of magazine articles, on-line magazine essays, radio essays, video scripts and stage commentaries.
Thus far I have published two books:
"Will's Music" is a sweet, gentle and sentimental love story centered in the world of radio and dance and set in San Francisco.
"Obie's Opus" is a book of humor from the world of classical music and the great composers. The book includes hundreds of humorous stories and anecdotes by Beethoven, Mozart and the rest of the good guys.
Both my novel "Will's Music" and book of humor "Obie's Opus" are available from my website at: obieyadgar.com.
Currently out of broadcasting, I still work as a voice talent and writer. I am also working on a second novel.
Regards,
Obie
