I'm so grateful for all the advice I get from the members , help files ,weblinks .... theres so many little things you pick up , I hope I'm still around to one day pass on these tips ... If it wasn't for Dr Moss's guide I'd never have found the group that was back in November and still I go back and read over that -- I've not been here that long but I dare say if I was to thank every individual for the bits n pieces of advice I'd be here a long time doing so ..

Brass Tacks
Simply put, why reinvent the wheel? Since we all got here by thinking for ourselves as well, I doubt anyone is just accepting the gospel and not wondering why.
A good question you pose though. I think about this dynamic frequently and on most issues from acting to shaving. Keeps me on my toes ya know.

Obviously there was a point to this thread . . . want to get specific? Threads or names?
We all agree, there isn't a lemming among us. But there must be something on your mind.

We've talked about sticky notes time and time again. It's a great idea. How do we want to tackle it? Does someone want to take ownership for a forum and go? Do we want to have a small committee of folks working on each forum?
There are a lot of really good posts in the archive. The search feature is one thing making the forums much nicer than Yahell.

A reason for this post? It was not to criticize any person here or point anyone out. My purpose was to make us all think a little. In my post I said the tried and true things we tell everyone are starting off points for newbies and those who lack experience. From reading many of the posts here I kind of get the general feeling that many newbies are using much of the advice here as gospel or some law to be followed to the letter. I just wanted to point out that as we gain more experience we must always be open to new methods and modifications in the old ones. Its the only way things improve.
If you look at every discipline things stagnated for many years until some radical came along and took the heat from the existing community and tried some new method and then things advanced be it medicine, physics, astronomy or many others.
Who knows what unorthodox techniques in shaving or honing are awaiting discovery by some shaving radical out there. I hope when that day comes we won't treat him the way many other communities treated similar innovations. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Right, and that's a tidbit of information that might be very aproprate for one of the stickies as a great reminder for as and a welcome invitation to others.
