So, I negotiated a 50% refund (excluding shipping) for the chipped razor.
The seller seemed very eager to please, no wonder, he had already left me feedback.
What kind of feedback should I leave him? positive, neutral?
I was thinking about:
'Left feedback instantly, fast shipment, item damaged, resolved professionally'
I'm not sure what the etiquette is for deals like these, so I'd appreciate your input, guys.

I would say as long as he's willing to negotiate with you and make it right I would leave positive feedback. You could mention in the comment section your displeasure with the item but also mention the positive aspects.
On the razor with the crack unless he gives you a full refund I would leave negative feedback but be prepared to receive the same.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Use something generic like "fast ship, excellent packing, willing to work it out when issues arose"
I'm a proponent of giving someone the benefit of the doubt. IT's been said on here time again that not everyone understands str8 razors and what someone who's uninformed thinks is "fair" or "good" condition may infact be poor or worthless.

I remember seeing the Tula. Sorry these two sales went south but a lot of sellers will refund your money. Some even give you your shipping back and you get to keep the razor for parts or practice. I credit getting a great deal on a Goldedge due to poor picture quality. You do take a risk, but you might get lucky.

I know
I know exactly how you feel, I have a razor that cost me about $60Au with exchange rates postage and cost of money order ,the fellow said he was that confident he would offer an unconditional 30 day money back etc ,you know the drill ,unfortunately sending it back is another 25 $ua I still have it ,I`m not sending it back just to have him say what razor and be out more doe.
I still have it ,great reminder of what to look and ask for ,it wold be exellent except for the buggered handle three big nicks in the edge ,pitting and excessive hone wear and a large frown at the edge.
I`ll chuck it one day ,pisses me off every time I look at it.
however in all the years I have been buying off ebay I have only been done twice, the other was when a package went missing in the post ,which I veryfied.Ididn`t have insurance. By and large I find venders are honest, but there is always an exception to the rule
Kind regards peter

Thanked: 0You guys are scaring me. I have one coming from ebay and another off yahoo auction. I'm afraid to check the mail. Didn't pay that much for them though and they are destined to be project razors.

No need to be scared, popeye, just be careful and cautious. I've bought 3 razors off eBay so far and each of them have been outstanding after a cleanup. I'm sure I'm destined to get bit eventually but I try to be careful.

Peter,
This seems expensive. Even if you have to make your own box just make a small box that's 3 to 4 inches wide, 7 to 8 inches long and an inch thick. Wrap the razor in bubble wrap or paperand stuff the box with paper. Mark fragile on all sides of the container. It should weigh less than a pound (less than 500 grams).
If you can get the packing under a half pound (250 grams) you can air mail it for 8.50 AU.

P.S. shipping from the united states global priority should not have been more than $9.50 to $11.50 U.S. unless he padded the shipping "and handling"Last edited by Flanny; 06-20-2006 at 04:15 PM.

Didn't elaborate on what he was going to refund. Should I ask him for item + shipping ?
Also, is it better to do this informally over email, or would you recommend to use PayPal's resolution centre or whatever it's called ?
