Josh, as you can tell I haven't been on the forum for a bit.
Anyway, a belated good luck on your surgery and hope the rehab goes well.if anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.

Thanked: 0I was in a similar situation when I was injured playing rugby, and I found this method helped tremendously when shaving (since I couldn't stretch the skin either). Back then I was using a Mach 3 though, so keep that in mind.
In the shower, I would take my GF's exfoliating "poof thingy" (i'm pretty sure thats how they're listed in the CVS price guide) and really scrub my face against the grain with the poof and a face wash called "Basis." After I scrubbed my face and rinsed it off, I threw some conditioner onto my beard and went about washing the rest of my body.
The super scrub and the conditioner really worked well on pulling the hair out a bit and softening the beard. When I'd shave with the razor, it pulled much more smoothly and I had less hair-pulls since I had already wrenched it out with the poof-thingy in the shower.
Best part is, you can try to see if this helps even before you go in for surgery!
