I hope she's not the jealous type or she'll mark you up to minimize your appeal to other women

On stropping - I proved to my own satisfaction that stropping can be eliminated and replaced by light honing on a smooth barber's hone like a swaty. The smooth hone removes virtually no metal, and serves to realign the edge very well. A big plus for you is that you can do it with one hand. It's not as fun or relaxing as stropping but it gets the job done.
On facial yoga - So that's what it's called. I don't stretch my skin with the other hand, but I do make the funny faces and move my skin under the blade sometimes. You might give this a try. It doesn't require two hands. If your wife sees you don't call it yoga. Tell her you're practicing making scary faces to frighten bad guys.

JL,
I once knew a guy with no arms who used to roll his own cigarettes with his feet. Where there is a will, there IS a way
Good luck

hmm...I wonder how many toes I would lose while shaving with my feet....if I could even reach my face lol..all while still looking in the mirror....man I could go on tour!
On a more serious note, if my wife holds the strop, I dont see why I could shave with one hand only. My other arm would be immobilized, so even if out of habbit I wanted to do something with that arm I wouldnt be able too.
I think I should be ok, but I'll do a run through next week and see how it goes...I dont know if I trust my wife shaving me...I think I would do a better job, even with just one hand lol

Thanked: 8JL, all the best for the op. I've had a few, my left leg looks like a battle field.
As for shaving, don't. Simple.... just grow a beard for a couple of months. I've done military exercises where there was no washing, shaving, teethbrushing, smoking etc.. for 8 weeks so it's no biggy. The only difference is that you will smell nice at the end of it.

After my ankle operation I had to shave by puting my wifes makeup mirror on a closed toilet and sitting on the floor to shave as I couldn't stand up. I have to admit it would be hard with only one hand. How do you stretch the skin. Here is a thought have your wife shave you.
PS Good luck with the op.

stretching the skin would be out of the question, but when I started I did single passes with no skin stretching, and it wasnt horrible.
