There's usually a good choice of stones to try. I personally have an effective set to get from raw to finished edges, but most everyone in attendance has more hands on stone time than I do. Hence why I love to host, brings a lot of experience together in one place and I'm fortunate to have the space and an understanding spouse that works weekends, hehe.

That staff has a beautiful grain, might make for some striking scales. Maybe a matched set of scales and brush in the works.
I used an irish shelaleigh for a set of scales last year on an old irish blade I had so I know it can be done.
Address is no secret, I have noisy 4 legged security systems in place,
    54 Westmorland Avenue.
    Orangeville, Ont.
I will pm my cell# for those able to make it and we can firm up start times closer to.
Should be warm enough to set up a smokers lounge on the patio, if not, the garage got me through the winter.
    Cheers.

I'll bring my stones too. a couple Cotis, couple Thuris, a synthetic 13k, and all the stones to get to those.

Orville, if I had to guess at the wood species of that staff, I'd say Douglas Fir.

Hey Rob!!!!!! You haven't posted any of your amazing razors in a long time!

What you have to do to get in is, take a black Tim Hortons coffee, go to Starbucks and ask for some cream and sugar. Get that on tape and you can come!

    Obviously a bad joke...

Okay, staff has been cut down. Wood is somewhat reddish on the "inside". I have seven pieces that can be turned for brushes. Minimum diameter on these is about an inch and a quarter to an inch and a half. From the bottom of the staff there are two pieces that look to be too thin for brush handles but would do nicely for scales or something similar (pens?). I wish it could have been more.
Getting to Orangeville is no trouble at all, as I am about 30 minutes down Hwy 10.

Rob, we chatted a while back, I'm sure you don't remember. I know that some of your razors are from classic edge, and you own or manage a few Tim Hortons.
