For you guys in the Carolina's. Just thought I would make this offer. How about I fly the CH-47 out to get you. We can meet at Walmart about 4am and have one vehicle packed with all your gear and drive it on up and in. We can strap it down while in flight to save time?
You know like this.
I won't be able to fly you but the wife and Muskieman can do it. You know that neither one of them can keep it in the air by themselves, but together they should be able to keep it from topping trees....
Flight time from say Asheville to KC will be about 6 hours. We can always stop in TN. and pick up TC and load his bike up too. May only add about 30 minutes to the flight.
My estimate of fuel cost would be 5,500 lbs at about $4 a gallon would only be $2,800. Shoot if you divide that by the 4 of you its only about $700 each to get here. Thats a hell of a deal I think.
Here is a photo of the wife and Muskieman bringing it in to the state fair! Not bad. Just too bad about that Audi. You would sure think they would attach the convertible tops better than they did though!
Let me know what time works best if 4am doesn't!!!

Works for me Ray. It's been a while since Air Assault School at Ft. Campbell, KY but if you need more cabin room I can hook up Kevin's Tacoma for a sling load. Even got the straps and the static discharge probe.

Ray,
Thank you for the offer, I don't see any issue with this plan. I understand the need for them to fly this time as you have a lot on your plate getting ready for this event. Both being accomplished pilots I could not feel any safer. Do I need to put the fuel truck on standby again of should we meet you at ALV? DO you need me to bring anything from the meet up we had here?
I spoke to Warpiper this morning he very excited to the point he has offered to cover all of the fuel cost on this trip just for a chance to get a ride. As you know he was sad an a "little snippy" he didn't get one in March when you flew in to the meet up here. Even the wife's here were commenting how he was whining but they used another word I can't use on the forum.
He is to bring a pop up tent also. Since you are bringing in the chopper again I will have room for other Items.

Chris
You know i love ya buddy, I was refurin to your reaction when you had your bottom lip stuck out so far and muttering no ride the girls threatened to pull that quivering lip over your head and tuck it in the collar of your shirt.
The good news is you are getting that ride across 4 states now.A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check, made payable to the United States of America, "for an amount up to and including my life".

Hey Gents. Been a while since I posted here on SRP. Mainly lurk from time to time.
I've been posting on this topic's sister thread on B&B and told Chris to add me to the list of attendees (so don't double count me here).
Just wanted to introduce myself, and I look forward to meeting you next month. I have a few straights but haven't learned to hone yet. I definitely want to learn. And if someone can teach me to hone a Rolls blade (out of the Rolls System) that would be awesome.
