Gerrit is definitely the one to listen to on that one but... I'll tell you that I continue on with whatever was used before... On some Big Wedges it could be even 3 layers of tape. So, I ask what was used and then continue with the same level. If I were going to change from that method I'd only do so if I were going all the way back to Bevel Set to start over. As someone still figuring Honing out that is just one more level of inconsistency you will have to deal with which equals just much more confusion. Just MHO and YMMV, of course.

I definitely love the LA Shaving Fougere... I think the smell confounds my senses so much that it is that part which is enjoyable for me... It is a smell you just can't quite put your finger on... But, I like it!

Did anybody ever figure out the origins of the stone?
