Just got done looking through the booty from the Meet... 3 packs of DE Blades, a cool DE 4-Piece Razor (... a buddy and I were just talking about making a DE handle out of a bullet casing and, interestingly enough, this Razor has a similar brass sheath for a handle so we may steal some ideas there...) and the Captain's Choice Aftershave Samples as well as the LA Shaving.
I'd never had any experience with LA Shaving Soaps but the smell and texture of it were so interesting it is absolutely on deck for my next shave!
The Captain's Choice Aftershaves all really have more subtle, earthy notes and I'm stoked to give them a try... I'm calling 2014 'The Year Of Citrus' as it seems everything I like best recently is a Lime, Grapefruit or other citrus scent.
I also got to smell the Oglalla scents and they are remarkable! I am definitely putting them on the Short List for Future Acquisitions!
It was really nice to get to look at and smell all the various samples... Really helps to have something right in front of you when it comes to decision making!
Thanks again to all the Vendors/Donors as they provided some incredible products and I know I'm adding at least a couple to my Birthday/Christmas List this year!!!

Also... A Portland Meet would definitely be interesting as well! Not sure about Dates but I think the PacNW could handle 3 Meets a year. And, you never know... Could develop into something bigger in the future!?

What a great meet, Kudos to Matt for some hard work and planning great to see you again
So wonderful to see old friends, Gerrit & Wanda, Mariusz, Shawn, Cy, and all the new guys I finally got to put faces & real names together with Screen names. Really had a great time folks..
I really loved the Mystery Hone Challenge, I would like to hear how that razor shaves when you get time ...
Jmercer the burger was fantastic
Notes to self:
Parking downtown Seattle Yuck
When the damn sign shows I 90 bear left, that really means take a damn left and don't end up lost by a Tent City and Chinatown oh yeah that was fun
Do not try and drive 12+ hours to go to a 6 hour meet, get a Hotel room and have fun in Seattle
When are we doing it all over again

Pictures!
Well I have to say this was a successful meet. Even with a few last minute cancellations, we had a total of 19 people show up. It was great to see old friends, put faces to forums monikers, and meet a lot of new people as well. I was very pleased to see 4 women show up as well. With the exception of Wanda they all accompanied their friends or significant others for the sake of their male counterparts. However, a few of them were very interested and asked some great questions. I even gave away a Gillette Slim and some blades to a young woman who seemed fascinated with it (and she listened to me drone on and had a nice smile.
The meet ended up being a little lopsided toward the straight razor side of the hobby, but I had the opportunity to trade for an Aristocrat, brought a bunch of Super Speeds, F.B.s, and Slims to show people the differences, and I heard but did not have the chance to see, that someone brought a Toggle.
As far as the straight razor part, it was wonderful! There must have been 25 to 30 hones available to look at, touch, smell, and get a chance to try. I want to thank Garret (deighaingeal), Glen (Gssixgun), and Mariusz (Proximus26) for all of their help in showing people the how and the why of honing. Each person has a distinct method and it was great to see the different paths to the same goal.
One special thanks to Glen. Not only is he willing to show and teach but he is GOOD at it and enjoys doing it. It really shows in the presentation and is highly appreciated. If you are interested in straights and get a chance to talk with Glen, don’t pass it up.
Before I end up hitting everyone with a giant wall of text I wanted to say thank you to our Canadian brethren who made it down. Ryan (Lexthedestroyer) and his lovely wife and Wayne (Rocketman). Not only did you have a heck of a travel day, but you got to explain all of the sharp objects to the border patrolmen
BTW, Cy (SkyBlazer) good job on bringing 3 people along. Way to spread the word!
I really want to thank everyone who donated to the raffle. EVERYONE got at least one item, if not more. It was a huge success! I want to especially thank the vendors who were willing to give their product to someone they had never heard of just because he said he was going to set up a meet. It was a very classy move on their part and shows what a great community this truly is.

In general totally agree and it is getting worse but, for Frado's next block South has 'Public Parking' with less than half block walk to pub. Parking was my biggest concern till I Google Earth'd it.
I vote Frado's for next time around. Great food, drink, ambiance, and our own room with service and parking next block over and just a few blocks from freeway access.
What a score thanks Matt and everyone.

How funny; we just found our SRP t-shirts. Those would have been nice to wear yesterday.

jmercer; I would agree with going to Fados again. The staff were very pleasant, food was great, and a great atmosphere. My only issue is we needed a bigger room. We met the room limit for people fine, but we had a LOT of stuff.

And the air did not kick on until almost everyone had left. I did like the staff and the food though!
