Well, I will be there. I may enjoy sitting down for a meet.

No cover or group minimum. Full menu and bar, individual bills for each person. I will try and make sure we leave a good tip, if only to have the option of coming back.

It looks though that I would need to stay one night and I won't have a car.

The downtown regular hotels are in full swing and in high season for prices. And with the USD - Canadian exchange....

Are there any suggestions for an affordable nearby motel/hotel? The airport hotels might be affordable, but I am not familiar with the shuttles and how much of a pain that could turn into. I would need be back downtown for a seaplane out on Sunday.

I am hopeful to come down from Vancouver Island in Canada. Thoughts?

(ps I have been collecting DEs and SEs for several years and very much enjoy straight shaving. I have been working hard at honing for some time (basic norton 1k/4.8k) and the edges are still no better than acceptable. Perhaps a tad less. I would very much like to meet some of you for some mentoring and assistance.)

Makes me ill, but I'm torpedo'd for coming up. 'Would love to have seen Glen & Gerrit. Roy can't make it. I have friends returning from long overseas vacation & I haven't seen them in about a year. I'll have one day to see them before they head back & it'll likely be another year. Sure wish I could be with you all. If Mike Blue makes it, pls. give him my very best regards.
