I will have two 2x72 grinders (mine and Randys's), a forge, an anvil, and two post anvils. Last year Victor and Scott organized the shop layout, wiring grinders and such I hope they are feeling gracious again. We will make the best of what ever we have.
Charlie, I could bring my Bader if I have to. I'm getting tired up carrying it up and down the basement stairs. The problem is that it has a 220 motor and I know you only have that one outlet. I have another grinder that is home-made but it works and runs on 110.

If stands and power cords were brought along with additional grinders to allow even a couple outside, what would be the maximum number of grinders your wiring could handle? I'm not really looking for an exact amperage calculation, just a ballpark of what you think your back shop can handle?

Randy's bader is here, not sure of voltage yet. My grinder is running off of 110 now. Last year my 220 circuit ran two grinders without tripping. I would say two 220 grinders and any number of 110 grinders. Victor could probably answer better than I could.

but could bring both if Tim were willing to add another dent or two to his pickup bed.
    .
Dents in my pickup bed are the least of my worries but something fun to tease Randy about. I could fit 4 grinders easily back there if there were no anvils.....

Bruno is going to do a layered steel demonstration, and hopefully do another demo of his grinding methods.

Hopefully Victor will do a demonstration on his grinding set and methods.

If Scott and Victor bring grinders, we might have four grinders.

Luckily we have a good community razor geeks.
My experience last year was although the general idea is "planned". It is driven much by the participants. Honing, scale making, forging, or grinding. Anyone have a lathe for brush making?

Tim has the kitchen knife I made from his billet, and I made a razor with it during the meet that is going to be a door prize this year.

If you like, I can cut off a small piece and hammer you that kitchen knife you asked for, free of charge.
Meet time is fun time and it'd be a pleasure. If you want of course. I would totally understand you wanting to be the person to take a hammer to it.
Dang even the chance of winning that razor would be worth the trip in itself.

    Charlie is a great host!

Dang it! I am either going to have to unsubscribe from this thread or get my ducks in a row and figure out a way to make it.

Because of you, I have gone through a few of those in the past year.

Randy told me he was going to order a 110.

YES! I hope that you can make it. I want to make sure that you are grinding before Bruno starts another demo!

Sounds like I might have to bring a bottle or two of some rum ( nice to have variety)

Btw, do I need to pick up any steel? I'd like to make something and help contribute instead of feeling like a mooch.

I will be bringing a atlas mini forge and grizzly 2×72 grinder (110 v) that has an 8 inch wheel. Good for stock removal. I will also bring a few hammers and tongs. I am thinking about making a big batch of taco soup one of the days.

Sure thing. If there is interest I'll gladly do a repeat of my forge and grind demo.
