Ashley's pic is in several posts along with some drawings she made on aprons. Here is the wolf she put on the back of my shirt. I wanted one on my apron but she and thehattr had to leave for work. Maybe next year.

So I was torn as to what material to use for the scales on the razor I made during this meet. On the way home I found a few auctions of ironwood burl for sale and got em. The scales will be made from the big pieces, and they are wide enough to where I can cut them in half and make 2 sets with I have pictured. Maybe more if I cut my scale designs just right. The other pieces are going into a brush handle at some point.

Is the band saw you have access to back up and running?

I do hope so as those look like they will be Way Cool my Friend!

Yea, the bandsaw has a fresh blade too. Sometimes with the harder woods I use the table saw. I will see tomorrow...

I find that even cheap bandsaws can cut hard wood as long as you have the right bands.
Mine come from tuffsaws and are the M42 type with uneven tooth spacing. They go right through everything.

Well it's a university build lab. I don't have too much control over what type of blades get used, or even when they get changed out. I know the old one was on there way past its time. Eventually I'll have my own.

Finally I am going to post. I had a great time at Charlies this past weekend especially seeing all of my friends, except for a few, that were there last year plus meeting some new friends. I made a razor of sorts that had a few flaws and transformations but all in all I did learn a lot from those that helped me and I do appreciate your help so thank you Scott Goodman, Victor, Charlie, Randy, Ron and Andy Lewis.
Mostly, I took my Son Darren who actually did make a razor. It turned out really really well since it was his first time at this. I think that he enjoyed doing this and the trip.
What was really cool was eating the crawdads that Paco brought. They were really good especially the tails. Sucking that stuff from the heads welllllllllll.
Watching Bruno's demo on making Damascus billets was neat especially watching the other guys making billets afterwards.

Next, I want to toot Bruno's horn a bit. I bought a razor from Bruno, pictured below, and I believe that it is Turkish twist Damascus with Blue Dragon Juma scales (https://www.elforyn.de/en/billiard-s...lays/juma/?p=1). This razor is so awesome it is unbelievable. The quality of work that Bruno did on this razor is out of this world I will cherish it forever oh! and is shaves really well.

Dave, you should remember, you are the one that told me that you thought that the scales were G-10. Then you explained the properties of the G-10 to me.

That is true. I should have looked at the metal instead of the scales. My bad or, in truth, a senior moment.
