When you are at work you are on the clock 24 hours a day then?

I grew up on a farm and we were 24 hours a day 7 days a week 52 weeks a year!

    8756 hours a year/shift.

Thank goodness the boss didn't get mad if we went fishing on a sunny afternoon!

And that is where you get time to do your Scrimshaw and carving!

I assume and hope you get a good length of time off between "shifts"!

Correct. I am held captive for 24 hours a day for 21 days. I then get 21days of rest. This off cycle there was quite a bit of surfing. My cousin said with all the time I spend on the water for work he would expect me to head into the bush for my days off, not play on the damn water.. it is an unusual job to say the least, but it works for me. I’m glad I have the time to get to the meet this years. It will be good to meet everyone and hopefully TC and I don’t get into trouble.

Lots of strip clubs in OKC, I worked for one company my whole career and the schedule was 3 on 2 off, or when I was overseas it was 30 on and 21 off. We were on the clock from take off till home. There were some other companies that did their pay like Shaun's, but what they did was pay more per hour, it still worked out the same but we got more overtime because of the hour difference, after your first 2 days of the week you were now getting 128 overtime hours. Now ,m an independent consultant which us by the day rate, but it's still captive till I Go home. Tc

Just a FYI, because I feel like I should.

Saturday I had emergency surgery on my right eye for retina issues, The doctor said about 8 weeks until vision returns to normal. Hopefully it is good enough in time for the meet (I think that it will be)

Most everybody has been here before and knows where everything is, all I am really needed for is to supply the key.

We are lucky to have such a great group of people.

This is my way of warning you that I might be lazier than normal at this years meet. See you soon

    Hope the recovery goes quickly!

I had a torn retina once. You can still see the spot welds the laser left. It took about 8 years for all the blood droplets to clear.

Charlie I do hope the recovery goes very fast. We will take care of the shop all you need to do be there and then that is not mandatory if your eye gets to bothering you. Get well soon.
if anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.

I keep trying to come up with a smart aleck response here, but I'll leave it as 'I wish you a rapid recovery'
