I have mentioned this in another thread and I still haven't finished it.

Skip Nord was giving a demo in Iowa and the handle came from a piece of oak firewood I rescued.

I got the knot from Geezer recently and I think that when I FINALLY get it done it will be a combination of good memories.

    Sounds interesting.

Making a brush handle on a lathe is something I've always wanted to learn.

Are there people with a wood stash that they will bring? Should you need some bits, any one let me know relatively soon.

I don't know wood well enough to know if pacific yew would be a good choice. But yeah I'd say if you think it would work I'd like to get a piece from you. That will mean more to me than a blank from Woodcrafters. I thought that 32t's chunk of firewood from Howards was a pretty cool idea.

You were sitting right beside it when you were grinding your razor. It did have a drop cloth over it if I remember correctly so you are forgiven.

From the picture you can see that the knot is just slightly larger than the hole.

And then how deep is the hole?

I have not set a knot before and will bring it along to get others opinions on how to and how deep to set it.

    Tim

P.S. I am sure that at least one person there will have an opinion!

I'll set that sucker for you, Tim. Make the hole bigger and deeper if necessary..Just where the knot barely fits-in.
When you say you like this loft, we shall measure it, yank it out, put a humongous dollop of goop on the end of the plug and shove it in right where you like it.
Hang it up bristles-down for a day or 2. Easy! Yeah
    I will bring some Goop!
