I'm in. Let me know when and where, my wife and kids would love it.

I am sure that we could get some vendors together, or maybe buddy up with another convention there and sorta piggy back the two. Share rent and all that jazz.

Here is a link to conventions in Vegas

Serious about piggy backing it would be cheaper.

Looks like this thread is having a breather!

I'd also cast a vote for Vegas because they're simply better geared for these things and airfare is generally well below the cost of other locales. Here is a quick overview of some of the properties we used for lodging and meetings in the last 6 months there...

Flamingo was the cheapest and it showed.

Palms (the property with the Playboy Club) was better, seemed to be a better location, and relatively inexpensive. The down side was that the meeting room was connected to the gaming floor - you lose participants.

Venetian/ Palazzo - Suites at $99 a night each for 15 people. All rooms on that property are suites and the wives love them - they're hard to not like. The stumbling block in that property may be the large meeting room cost - if I recall it was around a $5K minimum for the meeting space plus food/drink for the event.

Sam's Town - much less expensive than Venetian property, but it's very isolated from the Strip. You need a rental car.

There are any number of less expensive options and cost seems to be relative to proximity of the Strip. Places on the strip are more expensive but there's no need for a car if we stay there. It's a balance any way you look at it.

If we knew the rough parameters of what we'd be willing to pay for the meeting room as well as the cost range for sleeping quarters we may take a step closer. I've stayed at some very nice properties on the Strip for around $100 a night - so I'd think slightly off the Strip may get us rooms for almost half that. Surely someone in here is connected to a travel agent or organization and can come up with a few property options!

In any event, show me as planning to attend the First National SRP Convention (with daily RAD intensification sessions) - wherever it may be.

Having been to a conference in Vegas I must say that it was wonderful, distracting, but wonderful.

That said I work for a small conference center. We are located in Essex, Connecticut (Ivoryton to be exact) You can view the site here... Incarnation Center - Ivoryton, CT

While this may not have the ammenities of Vegas I may be able to see about an "employee discount".
