Thanked: 20I wish I could remember, I don't think it was my bleeding. Rather than blame it on my inexperiance and questionable technique, I'd prefer attribute the nick to being unaccustomed with the width, heft and sharpness of that fine Dorko BJ sugested I use. I'm glad Sham got a photo of me once I had cleaned up, changed clothes and lost some of the haggard farmer look.

I hate to see this thread die so I will punch in one more time. I found a sheet of scale material and can't remember who showed it to me. It looks like walnut [Dark Wood] but is more figured. I will save it for you until you get back here to pick it up. My daughter and son-in-law are visiting me right now and I found out he [ENUF2 - Kevin] was interested in Straight Shaving so I give him a complete outfit to begin with. He has joined up but not posted yet. He has had his first shave but I will let him tell about it himself.

Thanked: 488BJ,
I'm with you I really do hate to see this thread go away. I was actually thinking about a setup where different groups could have a page of there own. Say Missouri has one and then any other state with active members. It might be a way to grow the website through those who are curious about straight shaving and live in our area.
The group together at your place made me want to keep it together on here!
Good for you getting Kevin started:-) He's lucky he had you right there to get him started right.
Take care,
Phil

Well I have another reason to post again in this thread. Someone left a 3 foot long by 4 inch wide by 1/8 inch thick piece of wood here and I forgot who showed this to me. I am real close to cutting off 6 inches off of the end to make some scales. Please identify yourself so I can save it for you. It is dark wood like walnut but more figured. Oops, I measured again and it is 2 feet 6 inches long.
