Thanked: 4942I have to say that anyone who missed this gathering really did miss a great time.
BJ, thank you so much for sharing your castle for the event in addition to being so gracious a host. Your place is awesome!!!! Your shave den is awesome!!! The guns and re-loading set up are awesome!!! Damn, I'm gonna move next door to you and set up shop in the barn (Killer Barn)!!! The chicken, the pie, the pineapple cake, Sham's delicacies......nothing could have been better.
I am always grateful to be a part of this forum and to be a member here and have to say, getting to meet every one of you guys at this gathering is just a reminder of why I am so grateful. You guys are great!!!! Between Sham and Ron, I went to bed last night seeing Coticules in my sleep, and the Charnley's and the oil stones, and the full sets of Shaptons and the microscopes and Tim's iddy bitty collection of straights........OMG!!! I think Ron may need a trunk for all those barber hones. I'm bettin' Kelly finished restoring that one razor he started on yesterday, today....... The 3 rules are important for us old guys.......
I'm glad you guys liked the goodies and thank you for letting me participate. Let me know when the next one is......
All the best guys,
Lynn

Thanked: 46holy cow where do i even start. well first off BJ a give thanks for hosting such a great event. i had the time of my life with everyone there. i could tell that i was with some of the greatest straight razor guys around. thei amount of info was just over the top. the gufts that were givin away and not to mention the amount of other stuff that i got was great. i pretty much made out like a bandit. Joe really took care of me, and pretty much turned me into a genco man after last night shave. i also have to thank the big Sham for honing up my new razor. also i got to toss out a big thanks to Kelly also for the strop that he let me have. i'm a firm believer in passing down stuff until it cant be used no more. and for some reason i have enough soap for the next year lol. all in all it was a great time that was have by all. oh almost forgot thank you Lynn for a copy of the signed dvd and the great razor oil. i will be using that for some time to come. not to mention i know what honing stones im going with now. it was just a great time guys and i thank everyone who came and took time to answer my questions and to teach me. that really shows what you guys are all about. thanks again everyone and a big thanks for BJ again for hosting all of this. i truely look forward to the next one.

Thanked: 20I'd just like to say how great it was to meet the participants at
Mid-Mo. It was a pleasure to associate with such a diverse group
of truly nice individuals drawn together by this common interest.
I had the opportunity to handle hones that I could not appreciate
nearly so well in pictures and see razors that were beyond beautiful
tools, many were unique works of art. A special thanks to BJ for
providing such an idyllic setting with all the trimmings, the perfect host.
And as the lucky winner of the grand prize attendance drawing
I can't thank Lynn enough for his generosity. Preoccupied with other things
I neglected to really look deep in the basket. I didn't realize
how lucky I was until I got home that I found the Dovo and Badger
brush. My wife, daughter and I went through the contents sampling
the aroma of each one and suspect I will be more pleasant to be
around for a long time to come. I had to clean a special shelf just
to store all of the great products and I will treasure this razor until
it is passed to my son.
A month or so ago I had considered ordering a similar razor to be delivered to
the meet but it wasn't in the cards. Imagine my surprise. My thanks to all for
sharing their knowledge and the great memories.
Not the greatest photos but you couldn't ask for better subjects.

Thanks for all the accolades. It was my pleasure to host this event to such an elite group of guys. The best part for me was watching you guys shaving two at a time in the shave den. Before I used that Joe Chandler Damascus I thought my RAD was in check. Not. That new double barrel is going to have to wait until next year.
Hey Sham, I found a whole box of shaving mugs. What should I do with them? [I would make a great straight man in a comedy team.]
I found a couple more pictures.
This is how you do it.
Getting a little crowded in the den.
Good thing Sarah has the wide angle lens with 2Sharp in there.
Hey Jeff. This sure is fun, ain't it.
Don't go to the light. bj

Sorry Sham I cant help you with the pics.
But I wish I had more people in my life like you guys, the world would be a much better place, the genorousity, camraderie and sense of well being cant be replicated, only appreciated. Thanks to all of you.It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
