See item # 6 in my post on page 15 of this thread. It's generally advisable to not put one's thumb behind the slide of a pistol when firing

The picture was taken about 30 minutes after the incident after the bleeding had stopped and prior to bandaging. The cut was full thickness. If I bent my thumb, you'd be staring right at the extensor tendon.

I still have a numb spot distal to the scar from minor nerve damage.

Yea the bottom of the slide will certainly mess you up. I hope it heals well. I know it will take time especially with nerve damage.
