    Default Great first meet up!!

Being still new to SR shaving and having never been to a meet up this past weekend was amazingly good time.

BJ: Thanks for hosting! You've got a great little nitch back there. I'll love to stay longer next time and I'll bring some homemade mac and cheese.

Lynn: I double checked my math and if it is a step down from a 2.5" disc @ 3500 rpm to a 4.5" disc it comes out to be at 1980 rpm.

Greg: good to meet someone else new like me with as much excitement as I have.

Benjamin: I can't wait to see what you're able to do with that black walnut! Thanks again for taking the time to hone your skills with my str8.

Bill: I'll keep your grandson in my prayers.

To everyone else I forgot: Glad to meet all of you and hope to see you again sometime in the future.

I do look forward to doing it again when I have more str8s and possibly some hones.

    _Will

Just caught this on the forum index. I sure wish I could have been there as well. I was born and raised in Missouri and would have loved to have been there and met you all in person. Enjoyed the photos though and looks like everyone had a great time. Nothin' better than Missouri in June before it gets too hot and humid! Take care Gents and thanks for the photos of the event!

Wow!!! Trying to rest up from a full fun packed weekend. Again I didn't take as many pictures as I should have. I scored a great prize among the other nice items that Lynn brought. This Damascus blade with the Carbon Fiber scales is now the most beautiful and most prized of my razors. My compliments to Alex, a great artist, who I hope continues to turn out these fine products. I have shaved with it twice and it is a great shave and will replace one of the Tremendous Twelve in my shave den.

I've been trying to figure out just what to put in this thread after the fact-- it is a real challenge, because so much happened and so many great people were met that I can't quite distill the experience into one post in a thread.

BJ- You are an amazing host! Generous, friendly, and an all-around good guy. I can't imagine having a better location or host for what we did last weekend. Thank you SO MUCH!

Gary- Thanks for coming unexpectedly. You made my day!

It was great to meet all the guys there, and have faces and voices to put with the posts I've been reading all this time. You combine the best guys (not joking!) I have ever met with some great food, a beautiful piece of land in MO, a ton of great razors, guns, cigars...

...I needed a break, and this sure was one. Thanks to you all for making this the single best weekend of my life.

Oh yeah... sign me up for next year!

    Default Alex's Razors

Hoping I can join you as a proud owner of one of Alex's razors. Still plotting how to pull that one off

Hmmmmm I thought that you were going to buy your wife one.
I know if you did she probably wouldn't let you use it. Maybe she would let you shave her legs. I hear that that leads to other things and not the ER.

if anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.

That is a sweet looking blade! Be sure and review it if you get a chance.

I really hope I can make this gathering next year, it looks like a great time!

    Default Green eggs & razors

    Bill,

I'm working on stage 2 of the plan (stage 1 was the text messages sent while at BJ's)

Stage 2 was formulated while at Lynn's house Sunday evening. Lynn cooked steaks on his beloved "green egg" grill (which, BTW were FABULOUS), when it dawned on me that my wife had mentioned wanting a green egg, but they were too darned expensive. When I talked to her on the way home Monday I mentioned how great Lynn's grill was. She commented that she'd love to have one if it weren't for the expense. She agreed that sometimes you have to pay a premium price to get "the best". Hmm, what other item could that philosophy apply to, wink, wink, nod, nod...

    I'm a patient man

BTW, I used your "leads to other things" philosophy to get the second shower head (a "rain" showerhead) in the master bathroom shower.
