Thanked: 3I received a PM about this. April 23 is good for me. I'll be driving up from SW burbs of Chicago if anyone would like to car pool. I'm brand new to SR shaving so this will be a great time.
I'm happy to pitch in $ or bring food with me.

Thanked: 21Glad you got my PM. Anyone else you know in the area that may be interested let them know. Might be a good chance to bring a friend to show em what your new hobby is.

Thanked: 3My brother would likely come. My wife has attempted (and I mean attempted) to wax his back on more than one occasion. He's interested in straight razors when I told him what I was up to. But I think he just wants me to learn the skill so I can do his back.

Thanked: 2209The date is April 23. I am driving from the Twin Cities, about 7 hours, and others are driving even more! But, this is worth it, the first regional Razor Meet is always the toughest to set up. From there they just get easier and have more people attending!

Thanked: 3795I'll be in Rochester by then and also plan on attending. Has there been any progress made on finding a venue?

Thanked: 21No new news on a venue. I have Been pretty busy as of late. I have not heard of any one in the area yet. I have more invites to send out And have been PM'ing new members as they appear. I have quite a few in the N. IL. area yet to send. This upcoming week I will start the search in earnest for inexpensive venues. Often times churches have areas that can be used for cheap.

Thanked: 21Depends on the church! One of the biggest debaucheries I have ever seen was a hunters night out in the basement of a catholic church. It was a fundraiser with all you could drink Beer, steak dinner, and hundreds of raffles for firearms and such. Not to mention a hundred drunk guys telling hunting stories and smokin stogies.Just what you think of when you think Church Raffle.

Thanked: 0Howdy! I'm a newbie but I'm in it for the long haul! I'm down for a meet, I'm in Milwaukee/Tosa area and probly couldnt make it south of border but other than that I'm good.
I just gotta figure out how to word it to people. Saying, "I'm going somewhere to hang out with guys I dont know and talk about razor blades" draws some wierd looks. LOL.
