Thread: south WI and north IL meet up? please

I made the mistake of saying I am going to a meet to discuss shaving with a straight razor with a bunch of guys I don't know. Then ya get "what are ya gonna do sit around and shave each other?" perhaps I will say from now on I am meeting with a group of fellow collectors and leave it at that.

Fellow collectors! I like that, classy! Even though I'm broke and only have a couple razors that definition sounds good! although every knife ive carried since ive joined Marine Corps I prefer to sharpen enough to shave so I guess Im not quite a novice. Any of you Milwaukee guys know about Antiques on Second!? I just found a Fox Co. razor there for 12 bucks 85% ready to shave. They have a bunch of straights and knives and other stuff!

Oh, and I just moved here from Cali so I couldn't really recommend a venue for the meet. I lived here when I was a kid but spent my (sofar) adult life in other states and countries. I'm 25. Oh I just thought of a place. Theres a spot at Hart park indoors in Wauwatosa that I know groups rent out sometimes. Its the perfect distance for me and theres restaurants and bars within walking distance. If it sounds resonable to others I'll call em and see what if any the price is?!

Just looking for a status update... I'm trying to figure out what will be the best way to get there and if I should plan for a hotel room.

1. Is happening April 23rd for sure?
2. Are we looking at Kenosha, or somewhere else?

They have rooms for 89.99 a night. If there will be more than 10 rooms there is a discount. Dont know that there are that many needing accomodations though. There are many other hotel/motels in the area as well. We have the room for the entire day if we need it. Let me know what time you guys want to start the meet at so they can get the room ready, we can start whenever we want. PM me with any other questions. Can't wait to meet everyone!

If they have some folding tables and chairs that would be great. Then we can spread out the hones, razors etc. I will chip in to help defray the cost.
I will be driving down the day before and going home the day after.

LOL not in a hotel room. In the conference/Meeting room (wich I guess is a room in the hotel). There will be Multiple tables set up and chairs also. And a table set aside for Food and beverage so everyone bring good eats!

Just looking at the calendar... The meet is the day before Easter... I don't know if that causes problems for anyone. I am in either way, but wanted to make sure everyone knew that in case anyone can't make it because of the holiday.

Saturday April 23/Easter Weekend may be a conflict for some. I have prom the weekend after, but I'm free the weekend before (Saturday April 16).
