You actually wouldn't be the first one to park a semi at Manuel's, I can tell you from personal experience. Not easy though!! There is a parking lot on the next lot / corner for Manuel's that could accomodate you. Not tremendously crowded mid days on the weekend, but we might have to park further away and pick you up later in the day.
The buffer sounds great, but..........probably not.

To be clear, Not a good idea. I am quite sure that Manuel's will not go for that inside or outside. If someone has to polish something then plan on the old fashioned way, hand power. You gotta remember that we are in a private room in a tavern. They are understanding folks, but they aren't going to allow power anything, especially around a bunch of guys with extremely sharp things, or give up space in the parking lot.
A little polishing or light sanding probably won't cause a stir unless there is a smell or dust. There are liability issues that any establishment has to consider.

You got that right Will. I think for an informal get together, we don't need to get too involved trying to do big time restorations. This should be a fun get together for folks to put names with faces, find out some good information, meet some vendors, and talk shaving. Oh, and have scotch.

Thanked: 48I know a few guys have asked me about bringing equipment for restores, like polishers and while I don't think Manuel's is at all the location for that I do not mind setting something up at my place in Decatur if people want to use that location for doing restore work. I can easily trolly people back and forth no problem but my parking lot is only big enough for a couple cars, not a semi
So my answer is if you have some tools that need power that you would like to bring then bring them but not to Manuel's, we can rig them up at my place maybe before/after the tavern meetups and polish away over a few beers there. I have some blades I would love to learn to polish on.

Awesome, another trucker. I only drive locally, though. Not bringing my truck.
Not real sure I'm bringing myself now after looking at things! I'm trying extremely hard and am not counting it out yet. Like I said, I missed Asheville and am still kicking myself. I don't want to do that again. "Pay"day just isn't falling right it seems.
Now that there's some possible resto' work going on....man I've got to come.http://ashevillewetshavers.weebly.com/ April 26-27th come to one of the greatest meet ups of wet shavers!

Just got a large box of shaving soaps from Mama Bear Soaps - they sent a big selection of samples for our meetup! BIG THANKS TO MAMA!
I will have a vendor's table set up at the tavern with whatever I can get together. Should be a good chance for people to try some different stuff. I have got a couple of other vendors sending information down, so I hope it all gets here before the meetup.
Good stuff indeed!
