I'm coming down after work Friday. When I arrive will depend on what time I depart. But, prior, I'll snag someone's number to try and keep abreast as to the whereabouts and goingsons.

OK. LISTEN UP AGAIN!!!
I have reserved a small block of rooms at the Highland Inn less than a block from where we will be meeting. Here is the address and phone number.
Highland Inn
644 North Highland Avenue Atlanta, GA 30306
(404) 874-5756
Kristin is the contact
You should tell them that you are with SRP and you have TWO WEEKS to make your reservations if you wish to stay there and they do not have a great number of rooms available, but we are assured of up to 10 if you respond quickly. The rate for a room with a double bed is $78.66 and for a queen $85.95. You can try expedia to make the reservation if you wish, but it will not get much better. I tried to do a link to their site, but being one of the younger dinosaurs in the herd, that ability was just not in me.
You can google them and take a look around and you will see the expedia rate of $42 but that does not include the $20 fee or the 17% total tax fee which will bring you right back up to the rates they gave me today.
Like Rob (sicbboater) says there are tons of great places to eat and drink in this area. It is an old but well kept hotel in a trendy area. You could literally crawl the 1/2 block from Manuel's Tavern to your room, not that any of us have ever had to do such a thing (that we would admit).
I hope this helps the cause a little, and feel free to contact me if you need more info.

Also if you are flying in and would like to take the MARTA Rail system from the airport, you need to plan on getting off at the Inman Park / Reynoldstown station. That is only about a mile from both Manuel's and the Highland Inn.
I am sure one of us can run over to pick you up on Saturday.

I'm in Rock Hill (just south of Charlotte) and I'd really like to attend but I'm not sure I can clear the schedule on those dates. I may check in at the last minute.

Thanked: 48The original Holiday Inn that was mentioned turns out to be changing ownership and will not be open for business during the weekend of our meetup which is why we have changed locations, incase anyone was wondering. Thanks Will for setting this up!

Is there any way to make this link somewhere omni-present on this thread?Last edited by groovyd; 01-06-2012 at 03:37 PM.

We're sorry you missed it too! It really is great to see folks picking up the torch though. That gathering was amazing and it just went to show how much fun the razor community can have. Doc put on what was basically a three day event (Welcome dinner, The main event, bar crawl, and goodbye bbq), for three years in a row. It was more work than anyone had a right to do for the price at which he did it.
Let me know how I can help, I am more than happy to see the spirit of that Asheville gathering in this thread and I'll do whatever I can. Those of you who haven't been to one of these yet are in for a huge treat!

That is a GREAT area for a pub crawl. Lots of great food and atmosphere in that area. Some of it you can walk to.
