Thank you all for the get together. The knowledge was better to see in practice, and being able to restore one of my razors fully was wonderful.
Can't wait until the next one.

Thanked: 32That was a great meeting. Thank you everyone and especially diyguy for hosting, providing materials, and teaching. I had a ton of fun making the scales. Having never used a belt sander or buffer to making this was quite miraculous for me.
Little dip in hot water took care of some of the bend in the scales, so it closes really easily now.

Thanked: 114Thanks for coming Zolon. I’m glad you had a good time. I know I sure did! I’m glad everyone jumped right in and got their hands dirty. Much more fun that way.
Thanks for posting the pictures, wrxguyusa. I think those scales turned out great looking. I love the translucent horn --- one of my favorites. How did the razor shave?
Thanks, Alan, for hosting another great event. I think everyone had a good time. Good thing Zolon and wrxguyusa posted, though, because your comment taken out of context could lead some to believe we hosted a different kind of meeting altogether. LOL!

Sorry that I missed this get together, but it sounds like a great one. Perhaps I can join the next one!
He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

that was really enjoyable and thanks to all .. glad i remembered to check this thread.. Brian is an awesome host, Alan is a great help and the level of enthusiasm in the room was tremendous, and most of all Olivia is ridiculous. What a super smart knowledge base on restoration and scale construction and so patient. quite an experience working with her! gotta get my daughters to that level.
I got do a smidgen of restoration and a got 1/2 way through a set of scales before I had to leave... i think i can finish them on my own as I can remember all of Olivia's tips..
If i can make the next one, i'll bring my HF belt sander to get more people on the sanders...
