Good morning all,
As a new straight shaver i am really interested in getting more "hands on" advice on how to get better and not just watch videos. I have two questions in that, what actually goes on at these meets.. and where is this meet actually taking place? Some posts reference Oshawa and others Toronto.
Thanks and happy shaving.
John

Hey John!
No these meets are generally a very hands on!!
Bring your gear and questions and there will be some one who not only can help but show you as well.
The guys can usually answer most question or point you in the correct direction.
The meet i believe will be just north of Oshawa at Nate's AKA "MAXI" new places. I am sure he will updated us with time and address as the time gets closer.

Thanked: 993I've been rather busy these last couple days gents.
Ok....so...how about some specifics?
Date: Saturday, February 23rd, 2013
Time: Why don't we say 11am and onward - that gives me enough time to spread out the tools and set up a honing table - oh, and have a few coffees.
Linds is going to make some of my favourite dip for us - it basically contains Franks red hot and cheese - and taste like a Chicken wing on a nacho. I gain 5 pounds every time she makes it.
We'll put the bbq on the driveway for anyone that wants to use it, and I think we should. The food at Eric's place was a great idea. I'm on board for a bit of a potluck.
Burgers?
Buns?
Pop?
Wobbly Pop?
Any takers?
I'll have all the stones in water, but feel free to bring all yours as well - we love our stones.
There's lots of parking, as now I live in Brooklin (just north of Whitby), so you can park all over the street and no one gives a darn.
PM me if you're coming, and I'll fire out my new address to you. As well, when you get it, if you know someone else who is coming, feel free to pass it on - i.e. Colin, I'm sure you can take care of Jay/Marty and so on.....

Thanked: 993Yah man....bring some chairs and that table....I think we'll be ok for table space, but we can always use more. We definitely need the chairs!
