Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks! Can't wait to meet up again this year.

They sell knots and handles. All you need to do is epoxy the knot into the handle. Just be sure to match the knot size to the hole in the handle.

Their knots are really nice. I've been using my Finest Badger for almost 5 years and it is still very full and soft.

LOL! That's it, a KNOT, not a plug. Geez. Anyway, TGN is where I got my knots from also. Good place.

Thanks for info, John. Really appreciate it. I went to classicshaving.com and bought some for 30 a piece, and it came with a nice box and some extra blades. I've actually never even shaved with a DE safety, but I thought it'd be a good way to get my buddies to start shaving with better equipment. I might pick one up myself for when I travel since I don't fly with my straight. The Golden Nib website that Coloshaver suggested looks pretty cool.

I'm also looking for some soaps that are maybe in bulk? I've only been shaving with a proraso, and I'd like to even start branching out. If you have any ideas about that too, i'd appreciate it!

    Thanks!

Glad if I could be of some small help.

Soap is opening a whole 'nuther can of worms, so to speak.

I look at it like nothing encourages a newb like success. With that in mind I'd recommend shave cream instead of shave soap. Like most traditional wet shavers, I've levitated towards using nothing but soap as it seems thicker and slicker to me. However, you need some experience to build a nice later with soap. IMHO, a newb can build a nice lather that will work well enough to get them started right with shave cream much easier than one can with soap.

I like Trumpers, thought it can be expensive. You can get "tooth paste" style tubes of most shave creams much cheaper than the big tubs of cream. One of my personal favorites for the money is TOBS Jermyne St. (spelling?). It's much more affordable than Trumpers (around half the price!) and for me, out preforms all the other TOBS creams hands down. Great smell too!

Hopefully this has helped. I order all my shave gear from Bullgoose since the prices are right and the customer service and shipping are fantastic.

    John,

Pretty sure you just made my life easier. I was thinking about what I like to do to when I shave, but I have to remember that guys can be pretty lazy and that includes my buddies haha. A nice shaving cream and DE razor should be plenty for these guys. Hopefully they like it - better than some of flasks, cuff links, and wallets I've received in the past. Who knows! Thanks again for all the product suggestions as well.

    Cheers!

    Darren
