I had already considered Jimbos idea of a slurry stone. I have a 5x1 stone I use already so it won't be hard to use this one that way. If anything easier as its wider. Will wait and see and take it from there. Will update when it arrives.

It can be repaired if it's a crack. The guys at Ardennes explained the process to me when I was a vendor, and I think it's posted on their site. I've tried it with pretty good results. It requires Coti dust, obtained from filing a slurry stone, beeswax, hide glue and heating up the Coti itself, and a bit of lapping. As long as the blade doesn't catch, you should be ok....However....that's the worst direction for a crack, side to side.

So you were the competition that won, should be a good score,
the look of the crack is what limited my bid price a bit, was keen to go higher but was out and missed updating the price so hopefully the crack is only superficial to make it a great score for the final price in Oz

The moment of truth. It arrived yesterday and there is a line but if its a crack it doesnt go all the way through. It is only on the coticule side and doesnt go into the bbw. So I lapped it up and I can't detect it with my finger or nail. It isn't the only line across the hone and all are the same so think it shouldnt be an issue. Got some new razors coming so will find out then.
