I think 12k rather than 8k is a better jump from 6k but that can depend on the stones.
I see some experimenting in your future. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

I haven't bought the 8k yet. Probably won't now that I took my HAD meds. I'll know soon enough.

Lol!! You aren't an idiot! What everyone is concerned about is we all know how challenging it is to master a natural... And in some cases a barbers hone. This concerns us because we love shaving with a straight that's sharp and smooth and want you to as well!
My fear is that you'll give up out of frustration before reaching nirvana. But I have to tread carefully because some guys take to naturals and the like better than others... So saying you have to do it this way or that way is completely the wrong way to approach it.. You know?
All said and done, shaving with a straight takes a bit of stubbornness. Keep at it and you'll be good!David

And I've been shaving off my red imp that I restored and honed on my 6k with good almost great results. Check check out my post on it. I'd love feedback
