Zulu Grey - Time from Order to Receipt
Hello all - I ordered my first Zulu Grey back in mid-April and I have still not yet received the stone. I understand that Mike is running a small operation and I contacted him once a little more than a month ago to status my order. At that time, he stated all was progressing as expected.
However, to date I've been waiting well over two months to receive my order. So, I'm wondering how much longer I should wait before filing a claim with my Credit Card for goods not received. I'm trying to be fair about this, but I don't want to miss my window to recover lost funds.
All this has me wondering, if you've ordered a Zulu Grey directly from Mike, can you tell me approximately when you placed the order and how long it took to receive the stone(s) from date you placed it?
Thanks in advance to all.

You can also contact your CC co and find out what the 'window of opportunity is to file a claim for non receipt of goods. I did call mine once in a situation with a different vendor and the CC co told me there was no time limit. That may vary depending on the company. I've not heard of anyone having a problem with Mike in terms of not receiving what they ordered. Like Bill said, contact him again.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I ordered mine shortly after Mike announced the business was up and running and as I remember it was here in 40 to 45 days.Bob

Mine was a month to month and a half wait. Can't recall specifics at the moment. Give him a call/PM. Can't hurt to try again.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

I'm at 50 days and counting.
I'd checked with Mike shortly after my order (did not read the 4 week lead-time note on the site, which is now 3 weeks) and at that time Mike was looking early June, or in that 4 week window.
Checked back then end of June and my order is not up yet, but it is in the next batch.
But if ShavingSnob ordered in mid April (I ordered 12 MAY) the lead time is now 12 weeks plus....(Hirlau's time frame)
Mike is great about getting back with you if you send him a note.

Thanked: 4826It seems to me there are a few stories around of longish and long waits for hones. They take time to quarry cut and lap. He is one guy. There are also a few stories around about him being honest and supportive of his product. I think you are safe, just running low on patience. You should contact him if you want to, and I'm sure he will make good on the order or issue a refund if that is what you want.
