Some people have a utilitarian approach to hones and honing, others have transformed it into a fetish; background music, incense, candles and all.

Me, I'd love a whole bookcase full of hones and nothing to do for 3 months but to play with steel on stones.
But due to self-imposed financial limits, time limits based on work, handball, cooking and cleaning. My stones in general are limited and I don't use the 4 stones I have as much as I would like.
However, I love looking at people's stones and their experiences as well as knowledge. At least their going to be used or cared for. Then if someone on here decides to unload their collection or will it to the classifieds, it'll go to someone who will use it and cherish it.
There are also people who find enjoyment in crack, competitively eating, going incredibly fast in circles, as well as sitting in a chair for 18 hours a day for four days playing D&D. To each, his own, gentlemen.

My comment wasn't meant to insult you, just an observation. I am not without sin to be able to cast stones.

Thanked: 30It's all settled then - thanks gentlemen .
I'm aware that it's a somewhat peculiar hobby, but even my wife agrees that it's better than young women or fast cars ... And I feel that we have an environment here, where I can share it with other enthusiasts.
Cheers
Jörg

Besides with stones, they get skinnier when they get older and won't rust to dust!
