    Hi folks,

two more "new" vintage coticules that have found their way into my collection:

    1) a massive natural combination bout (14 x 5,7 x 3,3 cm; weighing 840 g):

    2) Another combo stone, this time a bench stone with the measurements 17,8 x 4,2 x 1,8 cm (which is a very common size for coticules sold in France):

    Dry:

    Wet:

Both show nice manganese lines (no cracks!), which I find quite beautiful.

    Hope you like 'em.

    Cheers
    Jörg

That's a beauty - especially the curvy line between the two layers !

@jollo-That bout on top is a beauty! How hard is it?

Thanks ! It is a very hard stone and interestingly very fast as well which is in my experience is a rare combination for coticules. It does not autoslurry but very quickly turns dark from the removed steel.

Hi ! From the first post, the last "coticule" isn't one. It's an italian stone from the area of Sienne

    Very Nice finishing stone indeed.

Also here to spread the information! A wonderful time witness in concerns of history between the relation from Solingen to the Region around Sonneberg...

CJH stands for Carl Julius Herbertz, Solingen...

    A very nice example!!
