Hey, that's what happens when you play with other options. Sometimes you find something better.

Yeah, just wait till you come to the meet-up on Saturday. I figure each of those girls could be holding 10-15 hones.

In my case, I'm almost there, HAD aside. I kind of live in two places, and can't risk moving my stones every time, so, I need two sets. And, for my swords, I can't use the same setup I use for my razors. Softer, older factory lines of stones bring out the beauty of folded steel, and differential tempering, as do softer naturals, thus a third set. I also need a few new diamond plates, atoma of course. Oh I forgot that I also need some better strops, but it's not a priority. When I get there, I can focus on my HAD. Or try to do something about it.

I've stopped acquiring new hones, and in fact have been downsizing the collection.
I'm really pleased with what I kept - some DMTs and coticules.

Yes, yes, YES!!! After trying some synthetics, a coticule, and an Escher I have settled on a Guangxi stone. I haven't found anything I like better yet. All of that is subject to change in the future but right now it's Guangxi all the way.

Ha! I have 6 JNats arriving probably tomorrow from Alex at thejapanstone. These are narrow hones for the "problem children" and I really like the looks of two of them, a suita and a kiita. Narrow hones or having sides you can hone on are useful. Likely I'll end up with two.

Narrow hones offer no advantage other than tending to be cheaper.
