Mid summer and the couple of months after Christmas. when I'm selling stuff to buy more stuff, things usually move the slowest then.

I think that now that people are getting tax refunds, "dealtime" is over. If you're searching for something rare and in perfect condition, then there's never a good time to buy.

Don't we all. Eventually it gets back to the old saying, though..

I think you and your buddy Paul are minimalists in the wet shaving world. Having experienced the excesses you've become proselytizers. Obsessed with the idea of saving people from themselves lest they spend too much on kit ......... be it razors, hones, brushes &tc.

Acquisition is the attraction that some of us have for this sport. More hones, more razors, more fun. So you are still using the same coticule/thuringan, or whatever, that you've had for years. Great.

Some of us want to try the next one, be it a razor, a brush, or hone. Glad there are entrepreneurial types who furnish us with the opportunity to pursue our passions, even if it is for the love of the buck rather than the love of the sport.
Thanks for dragging me into this. I'm flattered. I would definitely not consider myself a proselytizer, though, considering I hardly even discuss shaving related issues anymore. I just hate being lied to and watching those who perpetuate lies being propped up as they profit. I love entrepreneurial types too. That's why I love Lynn and have gone out of my way to meet him and spend some time with him. It's why I've spent an hour or more on the phone with Max. I firmly believe people should spend their money however they see fit, but I just want people to understand the truth about all of this stuff. It's simply not that different. Sure the ADs are fun... They exist for all manner of things. If that's what you want, fine. I just don't want you lying to me (proverbial you) to justify it. And if you are making a buck off of me (or others) and lying, then that's where I have an issue.

I agree..... We have something that works great for us....then something else comes along, catches our eye.... And then the wheels start to turn.... "Hmmmm.... maybe just one more won't hurt......
5 years later....ya have a shed full of hones and 3 note books with a list of what ya have......lol

I got lucky this week and have tree , yes 3 new coticules and 1 new thuringian .
First is the perfect litle non natural , glued combo 10 x 3 x 2.5 sm size very fine coti and finer and harder pink BBW .
Second and third cotis are a vintage ones 13 x 4 and 12 x 4 sm amd they areboth single layer cotis 1.5 sm thick . Very fast on slurry 9 - 10 K grit and very uniform withowt any patern . They strangely get darker in color as i clean and lapped them they were light pale / skinn color / The one was in old padle that i cut and throw right away .
But with time they got darker in color .
It will be intresting to compare the old cotis with the new one , unfortunately i have only old ones .
The Thury is 14 x 3 sm x 1,5 thick BGray fast cuting but not so fine as my Bgreen one .
    Now i already have 7 cotis , 4 thuris and 2 Swedenstein .
Hope can post some pics soon.
P.P. I got also 2 new strops and 3 new razors , saved . I know it is not the place , just canot handle myself .
