I move to cannonize it as the PHIG.
So let it be written, so let the delicious cookie/snack cake puns commence!

All this signifying with these letters ..... acronyms, whateveryacallit .... makes me feel old suddenly. Fast forward 50 years from now. Guys will be paying thousands of dollars for the legendary PHIG stone on ebay.

( BTW. I'd rather have used the green Big Grin Smiley but after the update it disappeared. The ROFL2 is cool but a bit of overkill compared to my true meaning )

How do these stones compare to say a Belgian 8k hone?

And that was my original point--no other natural stone is given a grit rating, and neither should this one.

    Thanks for the laughs!

Guangxi stone is a good name. Calling Chinese stone is wrong because I know two more Chinese stones. They call them river stones, one pretend to be 3K, another one 15K. I have both of them and would say, that they are approximately of announced grit.

If we're going to change the name from C12K or PHIG, why not go with the obvious, C-Nat.

I sold mine sometime ago but IIRC there was no notation on the box that claimed a grit rating. I bought mine from Woodcraft and they described it as 12k on their website. I wonder where the designation originated ? Not saying it is or it isn't, just wondering out loud. Name: chi12k.jpg

I suspect that Woodcraft is to blame for it, as they seemed to be the original, or at least common, US source.
