or gotgrit.com. You can use a piece of glass and put some SiC powder on there and wet it and lap it that way. Works quickly for novaculite type stones. Works really quick for other type stones too. Its pretty cheap too few pucks for a quarter pound.

Some wall board sanding screens are Silicon carbide and work well dry. They are from about 90 grit up to 220. I ecently used one on the found mud hone. They do work on the hard hones also.

and if it is something like an arkansas stone I would break it in after lapping. burnish it is with a nice large chisel and some pressure after you lap it to as high a grit as you can. I think the results will please you although it will be quite a bit slower. I might have to grab me one soon so I can compare to my arkies.

Just received mine.. Schools out as to it being a natural. More a piece of tinted glass. But! When lapping I do get a dark slurry from it on a 1K diamond.
I will be shave testing it on a couple of Wa Kamisori tomorrow morn. That said; it seemed to improve the edges on them. If so, The stones would be a natural for Wa Kamisosri. the traditional Kamisori.

Ok, did a little more research, Natural Stone in this case may have meant Obsidian / Black Glass! Thought they were cheap.
    Find out in the morning!

I don't think mine is glass. I didn't get any slurry or barely noticable.

Yes mine is definitely not glass - did you order from the amazon link? I would bet cash money that mine is a black ark or at least novaculite after having lapped, used, and examined it under a microscope. Oh, and mine also has a hairline crack, so definitely not glass.
