Thanked: 2I have one kiita with the same marks. I love it but keep in ind that a fine tomonagura can produce similar results on a Western blade

Here is my humble submission to the club.
Left is an Oozuko Traveller, very fast and hard. Still dialing in the possibilities.
Right is my Nakayama Asagi (?) which is medium fast but oh so smooth an edge. Don't let the odd shape fool you. This is my finest stone and one I hope to learn from for decades.
In the back are my nagura team: from left to right, Botan Mejiro,Tenjyo, Koma, and a kiita tomonagura.
I have lots of fun with these and highly recommend anyone interested in studying, learning, and practicing the art of honing, to get a natural stone. Even if it's a coticule which, as I learned just tonight, is nothing to sneeze at.

That looks like a particularly fine and pure stone, if it is a fast cutter then you have a winner all the way. alx

Most of my tomonagura stones came from two jnats that I cut up
I purchased a heap really really cheap and found two were no good for sharpening due to su and flakey layers.
They do work wonders for tomonagura stones though
Chris.

Thanked: 1587First year statistics: not finding something does not prove it does not exist.
Applies to samples of course, not to populations.

Yaginoshima Asagi.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
