#4 Aizu- this one is superb stone 1-3k range, very fast cutter
#5 Aizu, I use the back as lapping plate for the softer natural, the stone is very hard for such low grit
#6 Hideriyama - ~6k range , can be used as intermediate before a prepolisher
    #7 Yaginoshima Asagi
#8,9 -Atagoyama Kiita , a true #24 size stone, which is my finest prepolisher, the black lines are not cracks.
What do you think about #7
I have a couple, both of mine seem to be pretty fast cutters

It is hard to compare because the all vary, mine is fairly fast prepolisher.

I got this stone a couple of weeks ago but wanted to know more about it before posting it in the club

From what i have found out i 'think' its an Narutaki (90% sure) and a blue/grey greenish color if that makes sense lol slightly more blue then in the photo so I'm guessing its asagi? and its the finest jnat i have! I'm guessing a level 5. It gives a mirror finish, its very slow cutting but it has an awesome earth sorta smell when honing!

I have no idea of the strata and that is probably lost forever lol

It measures 8"x3"x1" and has no lines or cracks at all

A Nakayama kitta that i got very luck on from our favorite seller..

I'm guessing this is a level 4.5 and it's actually a really nice stone now that i have lapped it got it how it is! a good Pre-polisher that i paid way too much for! (before i found max and alax)

Another sorta lucky one that was over priced.... Again it came from our favorite eBay seller (love the sarcasm) before i new of Max and Alax

Its a Nakayama Kitta and its a very hard stone 5+ but gives a less then pre polish finish.. I use this with diamond powders and diamond sprays for a quick and lazy pre pre polisher. It works well for this!

I had to lap 5-10mm off this to make this a good stone.

save up, read tons, there are several mentions of venders throughout the forums, and google search should provide you with information. there are many vendors, each with their own distinct style.
