My opinion is that it's a Charnley Forest hone
Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

It is a Charnley forest stone. If you own it, use it with oil to get the max from the stone, it's very slow, use a lot of laps.

You shouldn't post pics from an active auction, I could id the seller by the red/blue cloth the stone is on. People will look for it and the price will increase. It would have been better if you asked someone through a pm. I'm sure the seller is aware of SRP and any info you write here about the stone may end up in the description of the auction.

Notwithstanding my complete agreement with the above, I fear it is almost irrelevant how many times you reiterate this, for some newbies (to SRP at least) are simply clueless to reality.
I should add that it would have been far easier to google 'Charnley Forest' if indeed that was your suspicion, than to start this thread, the result of which would have yielded many similarities to said hone while certainly being of greater ease and etiquette.

Now it's only fair to mention that it's not against SRP guidelines to post links to live auctions or photos from them, but yeah, if you want to keep it on the downlow and possibly score a great hone at a nice price, it sure doesn't help...

Thanked: 2209On my monitor the photo looks the color of cream, like a Coticule. The sellers ad says green.
Which one is it or is my monitor off base?Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin
