This seller is selling his stones for years, it's the first time I'm aware of that he used the words Welsh and thuringian together. Most of his other stones are named welsh slate or something like that. In the hone selling business, slate hone doesn't mean it's actually slate. It never does (shale are most of the "slate" hones we use). Also, there would definitely be slate quarries in the thuringian region. Thuringian slate doesn't mean Thuringian celebrated hone.

He says in the ads something along the lines that "that's what people are calling them - not my words".
I think he calls it a Welsh slate or something.

rodb had one at the MN meet last weekend. I spent a little bit of time playing with it, and looking at the scratch pattern under the microscope. I ordered one for myself yesterday.
I'm sold, ordered one today also. Whether it is or isn't, I find that I want one to try, and the price is right for now.

    Regards,

    Howard
