Based solely on scratch pattern, and arm hair testing - it's noticeably better, but not a quantum leap.

    JMO...

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I got one of the three stone sets. Have not had a chance to get too involved with them but I took a couple razor that had nice edges, nothing special just nice, and played around a bit with the Welsh "Thuringian". It noticeably improved the edges.

I'd be quite keen to know if this one would improve the edge from a 12K naniwa

The two razors I used on the Welsh stone were previously finished on a Naniwa 12k SS.

Bought a welsh slate llyn stone from him. He stated it can be lapped in 2 hours. I lapped it under 2 hours. I asked him for a bit of a slurry stone, he had put that in the box free of charge. Stone is a huge beast. Finishing my razors on her, then chromium, then stropping, great shaves. Highly recommended!!! If you want pics check out my other thread about this stone. She has copper green spots, being beautiful in her makeup...

    Have a nice day

Has anyone done a side by side shave-tested finish with this Welsh slate hone against, say - an Escher or vintage Thuri that is known to deliver a premium finished edge?
