Ahh, good point. I think I would prefer to keep the Zulu to be used with water/slurry, so I'll nix the oil idea...

I don't really count, but I would have to say that somewhere in the 30x range is where I quit as the razor told me it was ready. Boy, was it ready. The shave went really nice and the edge was very crisp...but not grabby.

Not going to say much more, just try it and you will be pleased...much more so than with the slurries & just water. ...
Whenever I think I've got the best edge possible, someone comes up with a new idea! I tried it with my Wacker Jungmeister. Unbelievable! Fantastic shave! Can Smith Honing Solution be completely removed afterwards? I've no idea, and I frankly don't care! Why would I want to go back to an inferior method? BTW, I wouldn't dare to apply it to any of my Naniwas, but on the Zulu it just feels right. Life is good ...

The part that doesn't soak in, yes...it can be rinsed off since it's water soluble.

I agree, I don't think I would apply to any of the synthetic stones.

Scott, I just realized that I completely forgot to give your Zulu a try while I was at your house last week. I was too busy with the Eschers and your Asagi. LOL

I guess that just means you will have to come back over...

After you have gotten the "new" off your asagi, I can mail it to you so you can mess with it a while. I warn you though, you will end up wanting yet ANOTHER finisher!

Didn't you notice that I stacked all the finishers on your side of the table?

I saw them all there, but between your Y/G Escher, my dark blue, and that Asagi it was like having blinders on.

Shoot, took me 30 minutes to put everything up. They are all present and accounted for.

Funny, ask Nick what stays on my hip...except for when we were in the casino eating a burger. My little boy is also another deterrant, my bucket headed german shepherd.

OK so this is my first SRP induced acquisition. I just ordered a 8x2" + the matching SS.

    I am so weak.
