    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to drop a quick message to those who have been following the Zulu Grey and contributing in this thread: (and of course to say thank you very much for all your time.)

But so I wanted to say that I've posted a message (my first) in the Vendors section about the Zulu Grey website officially having gone live. http://straightrazorpalace.com/vendo...ing-visit.html So take a look if you have a chance. I'll also be posting news etc. about the Zulu Grey in the Vendors section - where it belongs - but please feel free to keep this thread alive with your thoughts and experiences with your Zulu Grey hones.

It has genuinely warmed my heart to see the great response and support my humble African hone has garnered, here and on many other forums. My deepest appreciation indeed.
    Happy honing!

    Sincerely,
    - Mike

I have a question in regards to the Zulu Grey.
Assuming the bevel has been set on a Naniwa SS 1k and then went through a Belgian Blue followed by a Belgian Yellow, would the Zulu grey be too much of a jump from the Yellow's estimated 6-8k rating?

    Thanks advance.

    Cheers.

I have taken an edge from an 8k Shapton glass to the Zulu with slury and then diluting and it improve the edge significantly IMHO. I do prefer to go from the 8k to the 16k Shapton then the Zulu to get the sharpest edge possible with the smoothness of the Zulu. Double O

I frequently use my Zulu to finish after taking a razor most of the way there on my coticule. Like Double O said, I find that raising a slurry on the Zulu (I use a credit card DMT) and diluting it down to water puts a nice keen edge on the razor. My favorite thing about the Zulu is that it enhances the coticule edge without "overpowering" the coticule smoothness.....The Zulu definitely goes hand-in-hand with a coticule perfectly...
