Thanked: 116Just finished shaving... and let me tell you... WOW. This edge was as smooth or better than the razors i stropped with crox ceox .5 and .125 cbn. All I did was strop it normally on linen and leather. I'm totally sold on the Jnat. I wish I could share with everyone!

Sounds like a plan to me!
I've been dying to try the edge off of a J-nat!
I shaved with those 2 razors by the way. There was a noticeable improvement for sure, I'll try again tomorrow with a little more attention to detail.Through the mud and the blood, to the green fields beyond.

Brooksie, a nice asagi gives up nothing to a fine thuri. 'Different, both wonderful. You'll lose some hair learning to use it, but I bet you love it. 'Hope you fall in love w/ it like I did.

I absolutley LOVE my Oozuku Asagi I got from Alex. It puts an amazing finishing edge on any of my razors and is so easy to use. I typically start with a chu nagura, then go to a hard uchigumori then finish with a tomonagura into a dilute into plain water. Amazing mirror sandblasted edge and SO silky smooth AND sharp. Great stone and it looks like you go an excellent one.
Saw that one on Maxim's video. Nice.

Thanked: 247Well..I definitely think you did the right thing. Thuris are great ofc. But look at all that stone you got there! I'm jealous for certain.

They are more difficult to use, but those Ozukus are nice stones. They are better than thuris in that aspect that they are readily available, and you can buy them in nice sizes. You would be hard pressed to find a thuri wider than 2" for an affordable price.

Thanked: 116I've yet to see why people claim they are harder to use. I typically use a natural stone and slurry/dilute anyways so I just continued the same progression with this. After watching Stefan's videos I just work the slurry until it changes color. It's subtle but it definitely does break down and look different when it's time to move to the next grade of nagura. Finish on water and VOILA! I've finished 3 razors on it so far and have had my best honing results to date.
