I used the stones yesterday and I want to store them in the drawer but they are still wet inside and I may have to wait for days until they are completely dry
Putting them in the microwave for a couple of minutes will dry them fast.

Could that cause any damage to the stones?
I definitely think that would be a bad idea.

The first time I put my natural stones away the cardboard boxes became saturated.

The next time I let them sit in enclosures like dish racks for a week to make sure they are dry. The cardboard boxes didn't get wet. dish racks - Walmart.com

If you have a Norton 4k/8k combo the two stones glued together may come apart as well if you microwave.

i put em on a sunny window sill for 2 days. Then in the boxes. The storage box has holes and I never had a problem.

I usually leave mine in an open tub to dry up on top of the kitchen cabinets so they are outta sight outta mind.

But this got me thinking, what if you had a box or bucket filled with rice? Would letting them sit in the rice pull the moisture out quicker?

    PS, microwave does sound dangerous

Rice works well with electronics. I dropped my phone in the snow and didnt realize it until 5 hours later. Dried it off put it in a bag of rice for 3 hours and viola. I'm typing on it now.

Plastic explosive in the microwave is not fun at all, nothing happens at all, it just melts and bubble....

No, I think I would leave it out until fully dried, the heck with how that makes your bench or table look
I agree, I have fights all the time with my wife about my hones sitting on the bench drying...

Maybe with slow and progressing heating it will just evaporate and disappear.
