I have had to respond several times to incidents where steam has come into contact with water trapped in a cold underground steam line. The liquid water flashes into steam instantly expanding about 1700x. The street erupts and asbestos contaminated mud covers the sides of nearby buildings and parked cars. A condensation plume raises above the buildings until the steam line is shut down.

Consider also the metal slurry trapped in the stones. metal + microwave = bad things.

    Or possibly gold....

Maybe with slow and progressing heating it will just evaporate and disappear.
However you scared me a lot. Mission abandoned
I am pretty sure that with a 4000 or esp the 8000 grit side of a norton, you'd have exactly that effect.
What I do is put it on kitchen paper for a night, and then just put it back in the box. There will be some moisture inside probably, but it won't hurt the stone.

You'd get a lot of starch in the surface pores probably. Unless they're 100% dried out every time you use them, you might get fungus. Not sure it would be better.

What would work is if you put them over the rice, but not touching it. The rice would take moisture out of the air, which would make the ston dry out faster.

Make sure to yell "For SCIENCE!" as you do this. Also make sure to wear a kilt and blue warpaint.

Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?
