Thanked: 286After a long think about the 20 k I went and got one. Having had the suehiro 20 k a couple of weeks I have found this hone to be amazing finisher. I used the 20 k after my 12 k naniwa, and it clearly improved the razors edge. It was worth every penny..

My experience with the G20K has been 100% positive.
With it I am able to get consistently good edges. But more importantly the ease of use, for me is the big appeal of this stone.
No Voodoo or secrets to unlock. I concentrate on proper strokes and am rewarded with great results. My $.02 Ken

There's no question that the G20K is the real deal, and as stated, it simple to use. But, thus far, I've just gotten edges that are a bit too uncomfortable (harsh) for me ... But, I'm still working with it.

Thanked: 286I would not give up bill my first a tempt felt a little crisp, so I just knocked the edge back to the Snow White 8k which btw is fantastic hone then progressed to 12 k and 20 kG.. the edge improved To a nice silkier edge.
I don't think you can over hone on the z20 kG.the trick is getting the best at the 12 k level . Then it seems like the 20G tames and smooths the 12 k edge.
It's hard to compare to a coticule edge . There going to be different and also I found keeping my shaving low worked well.
I must say I like the feel of the 20 k the razor just glides over hone.

Thanked: 286I have to mention it was jamie Celticcrusader that put me onto this 20kG. Along with the pro stones naniwa pro that is plus the Snow White. Great progression pretty much bullet proof.
Big thanks to Jamie.

I mentioned sometime back that only two stones impressed me 1. The Chosera 1k for its workhorse abilities to set bevels without tearing up the edge with deep stria in nothing flat. 2. Suehiro 20 k for its ability to produce a very fine and smooth edge with some versatility in its cutting power. Utopian said once long ago that you put those two stones on either end of a honing progression and your a winner and I believe him. If you take the time to hone out the coarse and mid range stria out of your blade the Suehiro will provide you with a really smooth edge. Many folks think this stone produces harsh edges I believe that more than likely they went to the 20k too soon and didn't get rid of some of the razors tooth from coarser stria. Jointing is you friend for this one. I think its a great stone and didn't mind paying the bucks for it. I could of easily spent more on a bunch of coticules, eschers and jnats and may of not been as happy in the end. Great stone it delivers.
Don't drink and shave!

I know this is an old thread but I didn’t want to start a new one just to post some results.
With that said, I shaved with the 20k edge and WOW! Talk about ultra sharp and smooth too. I can see why this stone gets all the love. So so easy to use, quick and effective with an edge that I am sure is hard to beat whether synthetic or natural. Beautiful bevel too. Only synthetic edge I have been truly impressed with.
